Dear Parent/ Guardian,
We congratulate you on the successful completion of this term's journey. Truly, it has been an exhilarating experience filled with joy on the one hand, and the challenges that come with parenthood on the other. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Almighty God also for His Grace and guidance through this term. May His name be forever adored.
RESUMPTION: The school by God's grace, will resume for the 3rd Term on Monday 22nd April, 2024 for academic activities. Boarders are expected to be in school from Sunday 21st April, 2024.
PUNCTUALITY: Attendance at the assembly is compulsory and has great advantages. It establishes discipline, maximizes productivity from given instructions and also helps to build leadership qualities in pupils and students. Parents should ensure their wards are early to school each school day to be part of the assembly and other activities. Lateness henceforth will not be condoned. All pupils/ students should be in school by 7:30 am latest.
ADMISSION: Admission into our Crèche, Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools is in progress. Give your child the best legacy.

HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENT
PRIMARY SECTION:
BIBLE READING: Our pupils are expected to read and meditate on the following passages of the Bible:
Proverbs Chapters 1- 10.
WRITING EXERCISE
Primary 1 – 3: Write a short story about “A Talking Animal”
Primary 4- 6: Describe a special celebration or holiday in your culture and how you celebrated it.
N:B: Write extensively on the above exercise and type on A4 paper, not less than 2 pages. To be submitted by the first week of resumption.
*SECONDARY SECTION :
The students are to diligently read and digest the following passages of the Bible and create a write-up from the lessons learnt. Not less than 2 pages typed on A4 paper and submitted by the first week of resumption.

I want to also thank the esteemed educators and the support staff for their resilient input in ensuring the pupils' wholesome academic excellence.
Indeed the term recorded a smooth and educative ride with the following events:
*An excursion to Whispering Palms which was quite expository.
*The practical day was quite engaging as the pupils got their hands on small chops, meat kebab, vegetable sauce, sandwich, fruit salad and the testing for acid & base in the upper primary.
* The nursery section engaged in picture frames, promoting self-esteem during the etiquette classes.
* CA champions were celebrated as well.
* Culture is an indispensable part of life. Hence the pupils celebrated different cultures of our great country. Pupils were gorgeously dressed depicting the cultures they represented. Various activities were displayed, parents were to feed their children during the picnic hangout.

ALAKUKO SECONDARY
At long last, the term has ended. What a splendid term it has been! Indeed, every bit of the term was very fascinating and astonishing. Our utmost gratitude goes to the Uncreated Creator for His undying love for us all. And of course, our ever-understanding and co-operative parents. To you, we say a very mighty thank you for joining hands together with us to make this term a memorable one.
CAMPUS ACTIVITIES
GENIUS OF THE MONTH AWARD
It is our tradition to appreciate any high-flying student who has an outstanding result of 90% and above. It is concertedly agreed that this has encouraged more students to step up their games in the passionate bid to be celebrated. Our first C.A champion was a JSS 1 student named Akerele Subomi who impressively achieved an outstanding result of 91.6%. Quite remarkably, she has shown great consistency and proved that the first C.A performance was not a fluke by once again emerging as the genius of the second C.A with another high-flying result of 91.6%
ETIQUETTE AND POISE
For the very first time, the secondary section has been given such a rare opportunity to join the etiquette and poise class! Isn't that amazing? Who would have guessed that the class could be so enlightening and entertaining? I actually call it the 'posh class '. We got to learn about how to put off many bad habits and how to take up the good ones . Ohh! We had our TEA PARTY! We were allowed to bring tea cups and spoons. We learnt how to drink tea in a refined manner. It was a day to remember indeed!
VALENTINE'S DAY FORUM
Our wonderful teachers organized an interactive exercise for both boys and girls respectively. It was just wow! Many students came out to talk about the history of Valentine's Day. Also, our educators enlightened everyone on the tremendous benefits of chastity. It was such an interesting way to mark the day.
STAR LEAGUE ACTIVITIES
The competitions this term were very intense . Each club passionately wanted to win. Thus, they worked very hard to be the first. Also, as I said earlier, this term was full of surprises. Believe me when I say our parents are going to take part in the Star League activities! They have already been spilt into the four different clubs and it would not be long before they start participating in competitions. This is really fascinating! We cannot wait to see our beloved parents vying for the ball on the field or outpacing one another on the track. In fact, the person who came up with this idea must be a genius.
EXCURSIONS
Some students went on an excursion to Whispering Palms in Badagry. Also, the Art students went on an excursion to Covenant University for artistic activities which included poem recitation, drama presentation and competitions. Interestingly, the competition was won by us, the great Good Shepherd Schools.
Also, the Catering and Craft Practice (C.C.P) students were taken on a trip to the luxurious Eko Hotel and Suites to have a wonderful experience of the hospitality world. They got to see so many things which they had only read on paper or seen on videos. The five-star hotel was indeed hospitable enough to offer them some special treatments just like they would have done to their first-class customers
So, you see, this term has been incredibly exciting and fun-filled. Let's go again next term. I believe it will be more thrilling by the special grace of our ever Dependable Defender!

MEIRAN PRIMARY
Dear Esteemed Parents,
With a grateful heart, I want to sincerely appreciate everyone of you for a smooth sail this term and your outstanding support in ensuring our pupils had fun both in class and out of the classroom.
Below are snippets from the various in- class and out-of-class activities that made this term unforgettably interesting.
FASTING AND PRAYER: This held in the Campus in the 3rd week of resumption as the pupils observed the prayers. It was a time with God!
CLUB ACTIVITIES:
All clubs functioned as expected during the term.
CULTURAL DAY FIESTA:
Children celebrated alongside their parents who later joined them for a picnic in appreciation of their various cultures. The day was really colourful and they had fun.
ONLINE SEMINAR FOR PARENTS:
This was delivered online and was centered on “PARENTS' INVOLVEMENT IN AN ALL- ROUND CHILD(REN) DEVELOPMENT”
STAR LEAGUE ACTIVITIES:
This was held throughout the term and it helped with regard to discovering outstanding stars for the present and future representations.
Amongst other activities, we also had: Mixology day, practical day, Valentine’s Day seminar for kids.
Thank you for your immense support this term.

MEIRAN SECONDARY
We return all praise, thanks and adoration to the Almighty God for journeying with us through this term as well as making it a great success. Our special appreciation goes to you, our dear parents. We are grateful for entrusting your wards to our tender care. Thus, based on our vision of nurturing world class and total children, the students have enjoyed a lot of thrilling activities during the course of the term. The three main departments in the senior category (Sciences, Arts and Business) showcased their talents at different periods within the term, revealing how much they had learnt.
Below are the highlights:
ARTS AND CULTURAL DAY
The Arts students embarked on a Cultural Arts display, extolling the various tribes in Nigeria through different cultural dances, traditional food presentations as well as proverbs and wise sayings in Yoruba language. Some students even displayed their God-given talents by showcasing their self-made art works. Local foods on display included Afangsoup, Banga soup, groundnut soup, Edikaikong, vegetable/egusi soup, ofada rice with sauce, ofeaku, pounded yam, fufu, starch and semo. In fact, the PTA executives had the opportunity to taste the mouth-watering local delicacies. The Arts students' presentations were jaw-dropping.
SCIENCE DAY EXHIBITION
The science day exhibition was spearheaded by the science students at the various levels in the school. During their presentations, they educated the audience on the pivotal role of science in our lives, how experiments are carried out as well as how the introduction of technology has helped to make man's work easier and faster. A lot was learnt from their exhibitions.
BUSINESS DAY
This was another laudable event that took place this term. The business students at various levels used their presentations to bring to life the role of each stakeholder in the art of buying and selling. Their presentations succinctly explained the supply chain process.
STAR LEAGUE (DEBATE)
Since the introduction of the 'Star League' into our educational programmes, it has had a transforming effect on the lives of our precious students. This term, there were series of intra-campus competitions among which was the debate that we had in the Junior and senior categories, respectively. The exhilarating performances of the debaters were so heartwarming. It was awesome watching how our young talents convincingly express their opinions publicly.
FIELD TRIP TO EKO HOTELS AND SUITES
As a way of learning outside the school environment, our precious gems ( the Catering Craft and Practice students) from SS1-3 were privileged to visit the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites at the Victoria Island, Lagos. It was organised for the acquisition of practical knowledge in that field of study. Learning directly from professionals in the field will, no doubt, create a lasting impression on the students.
EXCURSION TO WHISPERING PALMS
This was another refreshing trip the school management organised for the students. They were taken to Whispering Palms Resort, Badagry, for recreational and relaxation purposes. The special attention and warm reception they received from the members of staff at the resort cannot be quickly forgotten by our students. They really had a blast.
As we proceed on this short period of rest from the exhilarating season of academic and fun activities of this last term, we urge you, our dear partners in this life-mounding business, to look forward to a more productive and enjoyable term ahead.

We give glory, honour and adoration to the Almighty God who has seen us through into the new year and has led us thus far.
We also appreciate you, our parents, for your unflinching support in making all our plans and programs to ensure the total development of our wonderful children a reality. May the Lord continue to shower you with more grace and blessings in Jesus' name.
Some of our activities this term include:
ACADEMICS
This witnessed a keen competition among the pupils as 16 of them emerged as achievers in the first CA. Okafor Miracle was the CA1 Champion. 11 pupils emerged as achievers in CA2 with Elijah Oluwafunbi as the Champion.
FUN ACTIVITIES
The celebration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day on 15th January, 2024 was an enriching experience .
The Bubble Day for our Nursery section.
The Mother Tongue /Cultural Day: This featured presentations of various cultural displays, dances, food and picnic with parents.
Pupils also carried out various class-based practicals.
POISE AND ETIQUETTE:
Some of the activities this term include Fine Dining for the Nursery arm, Manner Fiesta, Mixology for the Primary level and training in building self-esteem in all the classes.
STAR LEAGUE
It is no longer news that the GSS Star League has taken a new dimension and that all the stakeholders are welcome on board as club members in the fervour of the new waves to unfold.

C.A. CHAMPIONS
The Hopetown Campus of Good Shepherd Schools has once again witnessed the remarkable display of tenacity and hard work among her students who have excelled in the Continuous Assessment (CA) 1 and 2 this term. These students have shown dedication and commitment to their studies, achieving outstanding results of 90% and above. Among these achievers, two students shine the brightest for their consistency and exceptional performances:
- With an impressive overall average of 94.4 in both CA assessments, Obasemilore Adeniran, an SS2 student, has demonstrated a high level of academic excellence and consistency. His commitment to learning and perseverance have truly paid off, setting a commendable example for his peers.
- Oluwatamilore Adegbuji, a JSS2 student, is already displaying the stuff of legends during her early years. Oluwatamilore's remarkable achievement of scoring 94.8 and 92.9 in CA1 and CA2 respectively showcases her exceptional academic abilities. Her dedication to studies and ability to maintain such high standards across both assessments are truly commendable.
- The following students also made the Achievers List: Akintayo Akingbehin (CA1) with an average of 92.9, and Olayinka Faith (CA2) with an average of 91.8.
These students serve as an inspiration to their fellow classmates and the entire school community. Their success is a testament to the importance of hard work, determination, and perseverance in achieving academic excellence. As we celebrate the achievements of Obasemilore Adeniran, Oluwatamilore Adegbuji, Akingbehin Akintayo and Olayinka Faith, let us also recognize and applaud the efforts of all students who have shown dedication to their studies and a commitment to success in the improvements made so far.

**Good Shepherd Schools: A Platform for the Rise of Giants **
The Good Shepherd School has lived up to her name as a citadel of learning where stars are groomed and nurtured. This was proven beyond every reasonable doubt in the just concluded Poetry Icon Contest Season 14, organized by Saint Psalmstar Artville Tagged “In the Spirit of Poetry”. It was an initiative aimed at demystifying poetry and literary works for students of Arts and rewarding them via literary tasks. Sounds interesting, right? Well, I assure you it was.
The contest involved a series of rigorous drilling of students on not only the knowledge of literature, especially poetry, but also on the application of poetic and dramatic skills. Amazing don't you think? These skills involved the identification, appreciation, application of poetic devices, and demonstrating creative prowess in the writing of sonnets and the dramatization of poetic works.
We are glad to announce to you that our students performed exceptionally well in every stage with nine of our Arts/Humanities students qualifying for the semi-finals and three of them making their way to the top six qualifiers of the final competition which was held on the 5th of March, 2024, at the Covenant University. And no surprise, at the end of this prestigious competition, the trophy was brought home by the amazing, enigmatic, exceptionally sound, and our very own Social/ Hostel Prefect, Alicia George with a cash prize of fifty thousand Naira.

I guess the future of the Arts isn't as dreary as some imagine it to be.
It is worthy of note that Good Shepherd School is winning the award for the second time in the few times of our participation in the competition.
Oh! Lest I forget. Apart from the outcome of the competition, all the Arts/Humanities students who attended had a blast. It was inexplicably fun. Our School also presented a drama that diligently portrayed the concept of the poem 'Government Driver At His Retirement.' With all sense of modesty, we did way better than the rest. So, I guess it's safe to say that we are 'Primus inter pares': Best among equals. I am proud to be a part of a school as glorious as this. You should be too.
